I started attending Love on a Mission when it was first founded in 2015, after being invited by a mutual friend of Deena’s. Looking back at that point in my life, I was still very much in the closet as I came to grow, love, and accept my true authentic self in the time since. Through the activities and support during the monthly meetings, I gained courage and strength. Since then, many personal milestones have passed, both good and bad, including coming out publicly, first dates, and eventually marrying the best husband I could have ever dreamed of in my life.
